Man appears in the golden chain of redemption solely as the object of gracious redemption. He nowhere inserts his allegedly autonomous will so as to control God's gracious work

Romans 8:28—34 cannot be understood outside of the truth that God is indeed sovereign over all of His creation and that His greatest work, the redemption of a people for His own possession in Jesus Christ, is solely by His grace alone to His praise alone. It is not a cooperative effort, subject to failure due to man's involvement. Man appears in the golden chain of redemption solely as the object of gracious redemption. He nowhere inserts his allegedly autonomous will so as to control God's gracious work
